My Grandmother, Idessa Taylor, was a wonderful writer. Below will be poems

and stories written by her. As a child I would ask her to write about something

and in a few minutes she would have something written up and it would be beau-

tiful. She could write lyrics for me and have the meaning of everything I wanted

written as if I had written it. She was very insightful and loving.  The first post

below.  2nd and 3rd are below too.... UPDATED 9-11-07

    JULY 4, 1969

When we woke up that morning The sun was shining bright--- The parade went on as usual. Without a cloud in sight--

Then That afternoon, the sky Suddenly turned black, And everybody wondered If the sun would soon be back.

Then the rain was coming down, The winds began to blow We wondered, "Would it ever stop?" And no one seemed to know.

Was that thunder, or a cannon? That we heard so high-- Was it lightening, or a rocket? Lighting up the sky.

With all the wind and rain Our reservoir did break Flooding over streets and land Our town looked like a lake.

Then everybody's lights went out The water power' too-- And each and everbody said What are we gong to do?

With alot of cooperation-- From the people in our town And alot of determination We'll never be let down.

So many youngsters volunteered To help clean up the streets They sure deserve alot of thanks, They worked so hard that week.

Teen-age boys directed traffic Did it very well Some of them would work for hours Without a breathing spell--

There's still alot of work to do And it will all be done Because there is a lot of help From each and everyone.

   Aunt Rose

Although you had to leave us   So Suddenly that day   The Loving thoughts We have of you Will never go away

The Angel, that you gave me For Christmas just last year Has a very special place- I will always keep her near

Its been a long and lonely year Since we had to say good- bye- Because you had to leave us And we knew not why-

We had planned so many things and each included you But now you are in Gods hands He will take good care of you

We will always think of you with every passing day And we all miss you very much Since you had to go away-

Sadly Missed By- Sister Idessa and Nieces and Nephews, Marie, Sherry, Kyle, Lee and George

Happy Valentines Day

If you get lots of candy

On Valentines Day

The best thing to do

Is just put it all away

When you get on the scale You'll see a change in your weight

Then you will think

About all the candy you ate

So put the candy, all away

Just look at the cards on this day

The cards are pretty   as you can see-

But none of them seem the best for me-

Cause Valentines, The day we care-

For all our friends from everywhere

So I'll go out another time To find that special Valentine

with just the words we like to say- Like " I love You" on this special Day

And if you gained a pound or more

Please come to Top's 344
